Which Rice Purity Test list is canonical?
There is no authoritative edition to check against, so we did the next best thing: took four live copies of the 100-question list, compared them item by item, and published what they agree on. They agree on 94 items verbatim. The six they disagree about are below, with what we chose and why.
The four sources
Fetched on 3 September 2026 and parsed from each page’s own markup. Two other sites were excluded: one publishes a softened rewrite rather than the traditional list, and one loads its questions after the page renders, so there was nothing to read.

The six items they disagree about
- Item 25chose: the capitalised gloss

Three of four copies carry the gloss, and it is the first appearance of the abbreviation.
- Item 26chose: the bare abbreviation
"Showered with a MPS?" vs the same with the gloss repeated
Two–two split. The gloss is already given at 25, and the original sheet does not repeat it.

Same split, same reasoning as 26.

Two copies print it in full, one shortens it, one censors it. A site that hides the item cannot be read as disagreeing about its content.

What the agreed list contains
Counted from the 100 statements as published here. The imbalance is the single most useful fact about the test: it is mostly a sexual-experience count, whatever its name suggests.

Questions about the question list
How can I tell how old a copy of the test is?
Four places on the page answer it: whether the phone items sit at 32 to 34, whether item 69 is printed in full or reduced to a question mark, whether the MPS gloss is repeated after its first use, and whether the first line is a question at all rather than the host's own promo. The dating page walks through each check.
Which copy of the question list does this site use?
The list reconciled from the four live copies compared on this page, with every point they disagree on written down rather than quietly resolved. No dated first edition of the 100-item list has surfaced anywhere, so no copy can claim to be the original; what this one can claim is that its sources are named.
Why do some sites show a question mark as item 69?
Because the sheet they copied censored that item, and the censorship was copied along with everything else. The number is also the joke, which is why people search for question 69 by its number.
Can I reuse this list?
Yes. The questionnaire is a long-standing campus tradition and not ours to license. Our reconciliation, the per-question pages and the site copy are our work — a link back is the only thing we ask.
