Rice Purity Test score 100: Untouched

Is 100 a good score?

There is no good or bad Rice Purity Test score. 100 means none of the 100 items were checked: the test opens at 100 and removes a point for each item you have done, so the number counts situations you have been in, not merit. Two people on 100 can have checked completely different items.

Nothing on the list applied. That is the ceiling of the test.

The top of the scale means every statement was left unchecked. The list opens with the mildest situations it has — holding hands, a first kiss — so holding the ceiling means none of those applied either.

What checking 0 boxes actually covers

Nothing on the list was checked — not the hand-holding question that opens it, and nothing after it.

A 100 sits 50 points above the halfway mark of the scale, so more of the questionnaire is still unchecked than checked.

What a 100 rules out

100 is where every list starts, so it is the one score all seven share for the same reason: nothing on any of them was checked. It is also the only score that says the same thing whichever list produced it.

Nothing on the sheet has been reached, so every subject on it is untouched: romance and dating from question 1, sexual experience from 12, parties from 15, online life from 32, drink and drugs from 44, mischief from 47, and the law from 59. A 100 is the only score that describes an absence rather than a shape.

On the band chart, 100 sits 0 points into Untouched (100). 1 more check moves it down to 99 and into Pure Soul. Nothing sits above it either: 100 is the whole list left unchecked.

Which parts of the list 0 checks can come from

All 0 checks could sit outside the sexual block, since 40 of the 100 statements do. Whether they actually do is the part a score cannot tell you. Each block below links to its opening question, and every statement has its own page.

One point either way

Is 100 a bad Rice Purity Test score?

No, and not because 100 is a comfortable number — because “bad” is not something this scale measures. It counts how many of 100 statements you have done, one point each, with the heaviest item on the sheet worth exactly what holding hands is worth. 100 means 0 statements applied to you and 100 did not. That is the entire claim it makes.

What it cannot tell you is which 0. Two people on 100 can have ticked nothing at all — the score is a count, so it holds the number and drops the rest. If you are comparing yourself to someone, the comparison is only meaningful against a score from the same 100-statement list, and even then it compares two counts, not two lives.

Only one of those three numbers can ever change. The list is past tense, so a checked statement stays checked and a retake can move the score down and never up — there is nothing above this band to return to. Ticking 1 more of the 100 statements would put you at 99, the top of Pure Soul.

100 against the full scale

9 bands cover 0 to 100. These are the Untouched row that holds 100 and what sits either side of it — the full chart is on the score page.

Questions people actually ask

What does a Rice Purity Test score of 100 mean?

100 falls in the Untouched band. Nothing on the list was checked — not the hand-holding question that opens it, and nothing after it.

Is 100 a bad Rice Purity Test score?

No — "bad" is not a property the scale has. 100 means 0 of the 100 statements applied to you and 100 did not, at one point each, with no statement weighted above another. It is a count of experiences on one particular list, not a rating of them, and it cannot say which 0 you ticked.

How many more questions would move a 100 out of the Untouched band?

1. Untouched runs from 100 to 100, so ticking 1 more of the 100 statements takes the score to 99, the top of Pure Soul. It cannot move the other way: the statements are past tense, so a checked one stays checked.

How many questions does a score of 100 mean you checked?

None. A 100 is the ceiling of the test: every one of the 100 statements was answered no.
