39 is an odd number, and four of the seven lists on this site hold 50 questions worth two points each — they can only land on even totals. Is 39 a bad Rice Purity Test score?

No, and not because 39 is a comfortable number — because “bad” is not something this scale measures. It counts how many of 100 statements you have done, one point each, with the heaviest item on the sheet worth exactly what holding hands is worth. 39 means 61 statements applied to you and 39 did not. That is the entire claim it makes.

What it cannot tell you is which 61. Two people on 39 can have ticked entirely different statements — the score is a count, so it holds the number and drops the rest. If you are comparing yourself to someone, the comparison is only meaningful against a score from the same 100-statement list, and even then it compares two counts, not two lives.
