Rice Purity Test score 44: Experienced
Is 44 a good score?
There is no good or bad Rice Purity Test score. 44 means 56 of the 100 items were checked and 44 were left unchecked: the test opens at 100 and removes a point for each item you have done, so the number counts situations you have been in, not merit. Two people on 44 can have checked completely different items.
About half the list applied.
Reaching this range takes more than one block: the sexual questions are largely checked and the substance questions have started. The far end of the list — arrests, hard drugs — is still mostly empty.
What checking 56 boxes actually covers
Scoring 44 means 56 of the 100 questions were answered yes. The list escalates as it goes, so a 44 usually covers all of romance & dating, online & modern life, alcohol & drugs and rule-breaking & mischief, with sexual experience and parties & nightlife partly checked.
Where 56 checks reach on the classic list
- 54.Been put on disciplinary probation or suspended?
- 55.Urinated in public?
- 56.Gone skinny-dipping?
57.Gone streaking? — the first item a 44 leaves unchecked.
Question order is fixed, so this is where the count lands, not a guess about you.
A 44 sits 6 points below the halfway mark of the scale, so more of the questionnaire is checked than not.
What a 44 rules out
44 is reachable on all seven lists here, but it costs a different amount of life on each: 56 ticks on a hundred-item list like the Rice Purity Test, and 28 on a fifty-item one like the College Purity Test, where every tick costs two points. Same number, half the statements.
Because the order of the questions is fixed, 56 checks leaves one block of the questionnaire untouched from the first item to the last: law & consequences (8 questions, first at 59). A 44 says nothing about any of them, which is worth remembering before reading the number as a description of somebody.
On the band chart, 44 sits 4 points into Experienced (40–54). 5 more checks move it down to 39 and into Wild Card. One fewer would have been 45, and 55 is where Average Explorer begins.
Which parts of the list 56 checks can come from
Only 40 of the 100 statements sit outside the sexual block, so 56 checks means at least 16 of them are sexual items — that part is arithmetic, not inference. Each block below links to its opening question, and every statement has its own page.
One point either way
Is 44 a bad Rice Purity Test score?
No, and not because 44 is a comfortable number — because “bad” is not something this scale measures. It counts how many of 100 statements you have done, one point each, with the heaviest item on the sheet worth exactly what holding hands is worth. 44 means 56 statements applied to you and 44 did not. That is the entire claim it makes.
What it cannot tell you is which 56. Two people on 44 can have ticked entirely different statements — the score is a count, so it holds the number and drops the rest. If you are comparing yourself to someone, the comparison is only meaningful against a score from the same 100-statement list, and even then it compares two counts, not two lives.
How far 44 sits from the edges of Experienced
Only one of those three numbers can ever change. The list is past tense, so a checked statement stays checked and a retake can move the score down and never up — Average Explorer, which starts at 55, is behind you for good. Ticking 5 more of the 100 statements would put you at 39, the top of Wild Card.
44 against the full scale

|---|---|---|---|
| 55–69 | Average Explorer | The middle of the scale: a third to just under half the list applied.Scores here usually span dating, drinking and part of the sexual block while leaving the drug and arrest questions empty. | 25–39 | Wild Card | Three fifths to three quarters of the list applied.Getting this far needs checks in every block — romance, sex, substances, and some of the risk and law-breaking questions. Questions people actually ask
What does a Rice Purity Test score of 44 mean?
44 falls in the Experienced band. Scoring 44 means 56 of the 100 questions were answered yes. The list escalates as it goes, so a 44 usually covers all of romance & dating, online & modern life, alcohol & drugs and rule-breaking & mischief, with sexual experience and parties & nightlife partly checked.
Is 44 a bad Rice Purity Test score?
No — "bad" is not a property the scale has. 44 means 56 of the 100 statements applied to you and 44 did not, at one point each, with no statement weighted above another. It is a count of experiences on one particular list, not a rating of them, and it cannot say which 56 you ticked.
How many more questions would move a 44 out of the Experienced band?
5. Experienced runs from 40 to 54, so ticking 5 more of the 100 statements takes the score to 39, the top of Wild Card. It cannot move the other way: the statements are past tense, so a checked one stays checked.
How many questions does a score of 44 mean you checked?
56. Each of the 100 statements is worth one point, so the score is 100 minus the number of boxes ticked.
